FAQs for Therapeutic Dance in Education Certificate Course 2019-20

Who can enrol for this course?

The course has been specifically designed for Special Educators, Academic subject teachers, school counsellors, Occupational/Physiotherapists (above 21 years of age) working with students –Normal / Neuro-typical or those with physical/mental or emotional challenges.

Can Non-dancers enrol?

Yes, the course is meant for non-dancers and dancers alike! But it is essential that participants should be working with a group of students (any age group) in schools or special education centres or NGOs or intervention centres.

What attire should one wear?

Any comfortable attire that will allow you to move your body freely.

Do I need to bring anything to the course?

Please carry 2 notebooks, pen, pencil and eraser for every class.

Will there be a break for refreshments between each session?

Yes, we will have a 5-minute water break between sessions; you are welcome to bring a drink and/or snack for yourself.

How is each session structured in the course?

Sessions will have practical movement activities with theoretical inputs followed by class assignments.

Can I apply movement experiences from the course with a group of students that I work with?

Absolutely! During each week you will be expected to apply the learnt movement activities with a student group that you work with. You will receive supervision on this from faculty members.

What is the course fee? And how can I pay?

The total fee for the course is Rs.25,000. You can make the payment through NEFT or bank transfer to the CMTAI account directly. Bank details will be provided to you after the interview. Once we receive the fee in the account & a scanned transaction slip from you, we will confirm your participation in the course.

What is the last date to register and deadline for payment of fees for the course?

The spaces get filled on a first come-first served basis. Since we have limited capacity, please complete your application and payment within two weeks of enquiring followed by a short telephonic interview with a faculty member. That said, all applications are to be completed by October 15, 2019 at the latest.

Will I receive a certificate at the end of the course?

Yes, you will. Each participant will be given a Certificate of Completion at the end of the training course.

What are the criteria for students to receive the certificate?

Participants will need: a) Minimum 90% attendance + punctuality and active participation during the course. b) Your session reports of work with students. c) Completion of supervision sessions recommended by faculty members. d) Payment of entire course fee.

Whom do I inform in case of being absent or late during the course?

A whatsapp group will be formed in which students can communicate their delay in coming or their absence. Needless to say, it is important to be punctual and minimize absenteeism.

Will the training program run on all Saturdays from November to March?

The training dates are: November 2, 9, 16 & 23 (2019) December 7, 14 & 21 (2019) January 4, 11, 18 & 25 (2020) February 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 (2020) March 7, 14, 21, & 28 (2020) Timings:

Delhi - 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Bengaluru -3:00 pm - 6:00 pm (On all the above dates)
